<thetext>Arch testers, please try out media-libs/freeglut.

It is intended to be a drop-in replacement of media-libs/glut, so I've CC'ed all arches listed in that package. Thanks.</thetext>

<thetext>alpha, arm, mips: still waiting on you (2 months later).
ppc64, macos: try it out.

I want to get this thing stabled so we can make it the default virtual.</thetext>

<thetext>Spyderous, will adding glut to use.mask be sufficient for now? If so, I'll go that direction on mips. It seems like even software opengl stuff dies a horrible death on mips. Sorry for not getting to this faster.</thetext>

<thetext>Sure, Stephen, as long as you don't keyword anything with virtual/glut hidden behind opengl USE flag (which you may also want to mask if what you say is the case).

In that case, could you also remove mips from the media-libs/glut KEYWORDS? If one works, the other should. If one doesn't, neither should the other.

<thetext>took some time... had to patch openal to allow compilation on ppc64...

finaly chromium compiles and runs... (with more or less 10 FPS on my G5 ... :-/ )

so I guess that freeglut can be marked stable.
