<thetext>The latexsuite package in app-vim is rather stale. (Changelog lists some activity in March but it appears to mostly be marking stable on this or that architecture). The full 1.5 version came out on November 25, 2003. All that is really needed is for someone to copy the latexsuite-1.5_rc1.ebuild to latexsuite-1.5.ebuild. Moreover there are newer versions latexSuite20040521 that should probably be in unstable. If no one is maintaining this package perhaps it should be removed from portage, the rc1 release is rather buggy. I suspect that most people are simply untaring this by hand into ~/.vim/ it may be easier to do that than to maintain an ebuild.

            <thetext>The reason this one hasn't been updated is:
* I don't use it myself
* Non vim.org homepages don't show up in my "check for app-vim bumps" bash one-liner
* No-one filed a bug until now

An ebuild for 1.5 is in CVS as ~arch. I'm inclined not to include an ebuild for development versions, on the grounds that I can't test well enough to determine whether or not they're stable enough to be in the tree.

Thanks for the report. I'd appreciate notice for any future version bumps since you seem to know more about this package than I do.</thetext>
