            <thetext>Yes, python is in our base system, but this is actually to make deptracking work good. As things are, if you do a &quot;cleanish&quot; system upgrade, newt will be installed with python 2.2 and then 2.3 will be installed.  to avoid cases like this its nicest if newt was to have a dependency on python, thereby making the updater-  runs unnecessary.
