Had to modify the sed script since the makefile changed slightly, and also added similar fixup to the scintilla makefile to get the CFLAGS for that component too (earlier versions of the ebuild only compiled the scite part with CFLAGS from make.conf). Works for me. Also I can paste text from xterms (xfree 4.3.0-r3) or kterms (kde 3.1.4) without problems.
