            <thetext>fam oss fails to compile due to the stricter c++ handling in gcc-3.1, only the LAST hunk of the patch that I&apos;m linking to in the URL of this bug is mine... the rest is already in portage... please check it out, test, etc.</thetext>

            <thetext>that patch file should be copied into /usr/portage/app-admin/fam-oss/files it will overwrite one of the ones already there, and yes I have compiled and tested on my system.</thetext>
