            <thetext>Building prelink (or anything else that depends on elfutils, I think) fails with
&quot;hidden symbol __libelf_version_initialized not found&quot;.

elfutils-0.76-r1 is the latest unmasked version for ppc. elfutils-0.76-r2 has a
patch to fix the problem, but it is masked on everything but x86 and hppa. I&apos;m
using the latest binutils, binutils-2.14.90.0.2, which I mention because it&apos;s in
the elfutils ChangeLog.

prelink builds OK with elfutils-0.76-r2.
