<thetext>With 2.6.26 impending stable and 2.6.27 coming out soon, there has to be a newer version of x11-drm in arch.

Things to look for:
* It has to build with stable kernels, obviously. For this, it's easiest to test with latest stable for the arch.
* Modules have to load under those kernels (ie. no unknown symbols).
* DRI should be enabled when using these modules with latest stable drivers (xf86-video-*). For instance, this one should work with current xf86-video-ati and xf86-video-intel, while something like x11-drm-20071019 probably won't.

Thanks!</thetext>

<thetext>In addition, if you have one installed and built, it would help to test against a 2.6.26 kernel right away, too. This would be only a help for the future when 2.6.26 is in arch, not critical for this bug, so it's completely optional.</thetext>

> * DRI should be enabled when using these modules with latest stable drivers

> and xf86-video-intel, while something like x11-drm-20071019 probably won't.

Then what about x11-drm-20080710? It works flawlessly with DRI on an R300 and an R500 card with xf86-video-ati-6.9.0 (time to stable that as well, by the way).</thetext>

<thetext>And I can add that x11-drm-20080710 and xf86-video-ati-6.9.0 appear to work fine with gentoo-sources-2.6.26-r2 as well.</thetext>

            <thetext>One more addition: x11-drm-20080710 and xf86-video-ati-6.9.0 work well with gentoo-sources-2.6.27-r1 as well.</thetext>
