<thetext>Hello,

I noticed that media-plugins/gst-plugins-meta-0.10-r1 and r2 got keywords dropped, seemingly silently. So I went ahead to fix that, but had to package.use.mask the "dvb" and "mythtv" USE flags for all arches that had keywords before, except amd64 and x86. This because all those need new gst-plugins that are only keyworded for x86 and amd64 atm.
USE=mythtv requires gst-plugins-mythtv and USE=dvb requires gst-plugins-dvb, gst-plugins-bad and gst-plugins-fluendo-mpegdemux

Basically if you had dvb or mythtv in the global use.mask already, it didn't go to package.use.mask, otherwise it did.

So please choose what you prefer to do. The choices I see are (mythtv and dvb are taken independently and the choice could be different):

a) Keyword the relevant plugins and remove the package.use.mask entry in your profiles (possibly all of profiles/default-linux/<arch> profiles/hardened/<arch> profiles/arch/<arch>)
b) Decide you will not support dvb and/or mythtv at all and convert it to a global use.mask if you see that appropriate (dvb is used by many packages, USE=mythtv currently only my gst-plugins-meta)
c) Be happy with the package.use.mask and just remove CC to show satisfaction with the current situation

Thanks</thetext>

> Hello,
>
> I noticed that media-plugins/gst-plugins-meta-0.10-r1 and r2 got keywords
> dropped, seemingly silently. So I went ahead to fix that, but had to
> package.use.mask the "dvb" and "mythtv" USE flags for all arches that had
> keywords before, except amd64 and x86. This because all those need new
> gst-plugins that are only keyworded for x86 and amd64 atm.

Notifying arch teams would have been enough. Dropping the keywords was correct, shifting the problem to a different file was not. :-(</thetext>

            <thetext>I don't have dvb hardware or any way to use its upstream service, so the dvb p.u.mask stays.

mythtv isn't keyworded for HPPA, but accessing mythtv on a remote system should be possible. What isn't clear to me is if that is what media-plugins/gst-plugins-mythtv is for.</thetext>
