This "$myservice" var is always defined with baselayout-1.12*, but is marked as deprecated and does not work anymore with baselayout-2 (var no more defined), so the init script is simply broken with baselayout-2 Extract from the baselayout changelog that speaks about this deprecation : 02 Mar 2006; Roy Marples <uberlord@gentoo.org>: $myservice is now deprecated for init scripts. $SVCNAME should be used instead and is read-only so it cannot be clobbered. Please could you update ?
