From our herd list:

> > Here is a list of packages I we could punt from our tree.
> > Please comment, add/remove packages.
> >
> > + sci-physics/lightspeed: unmaintained since 2001
> > Replacements: unknown

> This one still compiles and works fine for me so I would
> be ok keeping it unless there's a know security problem
> for it. However, if you feel it should go away that's
> fine by me, too. It is probably not used by too many
> people.
>

I slightly updated the ebuild in order to keep it (see ChangeLog), but it turns out that it needs work, as expected initially.

Debian page mentions it still needs gtkglarea-1 which needs the gtk-1 stuff.
Anyway, lightspeed-1.2a-r1, with the debian patch and gtkglarea* is in the tree but masked. It crashes on me once fired-up. If no-one is willing to take care of it, either we keep the gtk-1 version, or we punt the package. It is at the bottom of my priorities to further debug or maintain it.

<thetext>Shame. I don't really care about lightspeed, only about getting rid of gtk+-1.x and glib-1.x

But if there is no alternative, dunno..</thetext>

Indeed. I removed the masking. Feel free to ask for stabilization and remove the gtk1 version.

Thanks for testing.
