            <thetext>The root account is required only for dspam database setup (database creation, dspam user creation, rights setup), it isn&apos;t used anywhere else by dspam.
Are you telling me your administrative MySQL account name is not root?</thetext>

That is correct.  I never use the root user account and it does not have a password set.  I believe that is uncommon, but most definitely isn&apos;t unique.  In order to use the root account I have to take mysql offline and bring the daemon back up without password authentication.
