I tried - and on my box it worked without any problem. I just changed the URL and some other very minor things in the ebuild of version 2.0.7. As I have nearly no experience with writing ebuilds, I'm quite sure there is room for improvement, so please experienced guys, go ahead! :) One thing I don't get yet - how does the distfile come to the gentoo mirror? Right now it's not there, so I hard-coded the http://wordpress.org/... URI, but I'm sure they won't be too happy about that. Thanks for any clarification. Thanks Patrick, I'll try that. The reason we are mirroring it is because wordpress is still working on getting archives hosted. Right now you can only download and always download the latest as latest.zip. I've been talking with upstream about the issue and getting md5 hashes from them too, but I can't remember where we are at with that.
