Is solves two nasty problems (one oops) on PPC boxes that uses firewire.</thetext>

            <thetext>PPC people: Any thoughts on this? As you can read on the upstream bug it is not planned for inclusion just yet, due to some risks with this change (I guess)?</thetext>

            <thetext>It&apos;s probably okay for inclusion, I&apos;ve applied it here to 18-r2 and will test it out, but I don&apos;t expect any problems.  If you&apos;d rather we waited until it is submitted for inclusion, that&apos;s fine with me as well.  I&apos;m looking to stabilize 2.6.18 soonish, this is the only bug holding that back at the moment. :)</thetext>
