I don't remember us having a crypto project/herd and hardened does not seem proper either. So, if there are no immediate takers we should ask on -dev (mailing list). If math people do not want it and we do not find crypto or whatever people who would take it then I'd say it should go into sci-misc category. I don't really think it fits well into sci-mathematics.
