Which is weird, since it doesn't appear when you build from CVS. My suspicions of what might be wrong include: 1) the manual re-auto*, ac*, etc that the ebuild does may not actually be sufficient [pity you need to do that to pick up the macro patch] 2) the macros(?) from libgtk-java aren't being installed properly, which is perhaps what libgnome-java and friends are looking for, which might be why JG_GTK_JAVA(2.8) isn't being evaluated as a macro.
