I had that several times, the last time when i had hardened-sources-2.6.16-r5 installed and wanted to install hardened-sources-2.6.14-r7. Without FEATURES="collision-protect" everything works fine, of course. I've added sys-kernel/linux-docs to portage, the first step of solving this bug. Next step is to have it marked stable on the respective archs.
