<thetext>The basic X86 live-cd version 1.4rc2 has EVMS 1.2.1 support built into the kernel

dmesg:
[...]
evms: EVMS v1.2.1 initializing .... info level(5).
[...]

while the userspace utilities are still 1.2.0.

evms:
EVMS Command Line Interpreter Version 1.2.0

Engine: The EVMS kernel does not supply a version of its ioctl interface that is
compatible with this Engine.

Engine: The Engine requires EVMS kernel ioctl version 11.0.0.

Engine: The kernel's EVMS ioctl version number is 12.0.0.

Unable to open the EVMS Engine. Engine returns code 38.

So there is no way to change the EVMS configuration with the tools provided on
the LiveCD.</thetext>
