<thetext>Please mark linuxtv-dvb-headers stable.
It is a packat containing only a RDEPEND to have the headers of the
dvb-subsystem installed and is to simply get out the big or-dependencies of a
lot of ebuilds.
for example dvbsnoop, vdr, vdr-plugin.eclass, mplayer, xine and some more. (The
last two do not have a correct depend up to now, but they will need it too).</thetext>

<thetext>looking at the homepage of the package, the best bet seems to be someone who has
a hauppauge card. However the standard 150-350 series cards (that most linux
users would go after) are not on the list. Heres a link to the supported cards:
http://www.linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/DVB_Card_Vendors . Anyone with the
hardware and willing to test?</thetext>

<thetext>For testing one needs a DVB or ATSC card which is supported by the driver which
is included in Kernel 2.6 or provided external by media-tv/linuxtv-dvb.

@tsunam: You are right, Hauppauge 150-300 cards are for analog input (they have
an mpeg-encoder on board), DVB cards have no mpeg-encoder, they receive the
digital-stream from satellite/terrestric sender.

To test you can check wheather for example dvbsnoop-1.4.00 compiles and is
usable.
Problem: The test-case should best include a system with Kernel 2.4 as this is
what the second-case of the or-depend is for.

<thetext>I talked to zzam about this and he's going to handle media-tv apps for x86 since
he has the hardware.

zzam: please make sure you do all testing with stable packages only. Thanks :)</thetext>

Please keyword or mark stable this ebuild as it is going to be used as a

If DVB is no topic on your arch please use.mask dvb in your profile(s).

Thank you
