<thetext>FlightGear-0.9.9 was released November 17, together with SimGear-0.3.9;
it will probably need a new snapshot of OpenAL, plib-1.8.4 is still okay

            <thetext>Uwe,

Simply copy the one for 3.9.8 to your overlay as 3.9.9 and it'll work out fine.</thetext>

            <thetext>When flightgear is compiled with a hardened gcc, this is the result:

$ fgfs

RenderTexture Error: Couldn't find a suitable pixel format.

fgfs: stack smashing attack in function virtual void FGJSBsim::update(double)()

Anyone else seeing this?

With a vanilla gcc, fgfs flies okay, so far.

(BTW, it appears to work fine with the existing openal-20050504-r1.)</thetext>

            <thetext>Did as you suggested (copying over the simgear ebuild to the local overlay), and
apparently everything works fine. I'd vote for adding the 0.9.9 ebuild to the

            <thetext>benno, and whoever else is interested -- please file simgear/flightgear bugs
directly to me, instead of letting them be wrangled. Invariably, they'll wind
up first at bug-wranglers (which I don't even check any more because jakub does
all that heavy lifting) then at games, which is overloaded as it is.

thanks!</thetext>
