<thetext>We don't do *anything* as "look-and-submit" on the Games Team. Every single
package that we add we verify and download, along with actual usage testing.
This takes much longer than some of the other teams and their "it compiles,
commit it" attitudes. It also means that some of our stuff stays in bugzilla
much longer, especially things in which we are not personally interested. I
have this on my list of bugs (which right now is ~350 long) that I'll eventually
get to, provided one of the other Games Team developers doesn't beat me to it.</thetext>

            <thetext>Alright, my apologies...

Just thought the ~arch keyword is for that (it compiles-submit it-let users test
it)...

<thetext>Absolutely not. The ~arch KEYWORDS are for *ebuild* testing. A package *must*
be known to not have any major bugs that have been discovered *before* it gets
added to the tree. Anyone that is adding things to ~arch without doing
extensive testing prior is breaking Gentoo policy. It is not Gentoo policy to
offload broken crap on our users. It is our job to go through due diligence to
ensure that the package works as expected udner all of the possible USE
configurations before it goes into the tree. Essentially, ~arch should be a
candidate for stabilization if no bugs are found in a short time, not an
untested dumping ground where crap ebuilds get tossed onto our unsuspecting
users. ;]</thetext>

<thetext>Ahhh, that's a pity. I would appreciate something like ~~arch where raw packages
are submitted as soon as received. Pulling them from bugzilla is sooo slow and
uncomfortable... ...but we've gotten to Gentoo policy which is off-topic here.
Take your time with this ebuild, then...

This ebuild also sets up the textures to work with the Quake 1 demo data.

This is the *correct* date, reflecting the date of release of the textures. There should be a new textures release on 22-Jul-2006.

<thetext>I've added this to CVS... since it only adds a symlink, I've removed the "demo" USE flag. The user shouldn't have to reinstall this with USE="demo" just to make the stuff usable with the demo data, IMHO.
