I tried to patch, but looks non-trivial to me.  More experienced hands should
take a look.  This package should not be marked stable until the multilib issue

            <thetext>The xerces-c build system is quite nasty.  It should be an actual autotool
system in the next release, but I&apos;m not sure how far off that is, probably a
couple more months.  I&apos;ll try to look into how to best fix this in the meantime
when I have time.</thetext>
