            <thetext>after commenting out the patch line (28) in ebuild it failed in line 54 of
ebuild file as by commenting out a continuation line was broken. Of course it is
easy to repair the patch file.</thetext>

            <thetext>Yeah seems like the maintainer doesnt test things before committing...  the
patch doesn&apos;t apply.

Also, as you pointed out, you cannot comment out a line with a line continuation
character and expect it to still work.  Yet another thing that would&apos;ve been
caught had it been tested.
