The screen program has a hard coded maximum number of windows (MAXWIN) that it
will open.  This is set to 40 in the source code.  It would be very useful to
have this number increased, to say 100, for people who admin large numbers of
systems and want to have a connection to each of these systems.

Fixed in CVS. The default has been changed to 100 with screen-4.0.2-r5.
