media-sound/alsa-driver-1.0.9a emerges okay for a 2.4 kernel but complains about a couple unresolved symbols when running depmod, which renders it unusable. This problem has already been fixed upstream in alsa-driver-1.0.9b. I have tested a trivially modified ebuild for version 1.0.9b locally and it works for me. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
Created an attachment (id=61151) [details] Ebuild for alsa-driver-1.0.9b Here's the ebuild I used to test alsa-driver-1.0.9b. Pretty much the same as the ebuild for 1.0.9a except I changed 'a' to 'b' on line 17 to construct the RDEPEND line for media-sound/alsa-headers.
marking this one as fixed since it seems to me as a version bump. otherwise i would have marked it as upstream. thanks for reporting and for using gentoo!
