JabRef 1.8 beta (1.8b) is released. I don't know what Gentoo's policy is regarding beta versions, but I thought I'd report it. 

Question: should I submit betas in the future?

In the case of jabref or many Java based apps I'm fine with adding a beta
version to the tree. Fixed in cvs, thanks for reporting.
