Description Rohan McGovern 2005-06-09 22:27:13 UTC
Clucene is yet another port of lucene, this time in C++. I've put together a
simple ebuild for it. It is required for kio-clucene, a very nice (though not
very mature) fulltext search kio-slave.

Reproducible: Always

ebuild for clucene-0.8.13

Rohan: Clucene is buggy and it doesn't look like it's well maintained. Unless
this changes, I don't see the two packages to be added to the Portage tree.

Disappointing :-( But I will respect your decision.
Comment 4 Carsten Lohrke (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-06-13 09:46:18 UTC
Well, it's not a hard "no" and maybe some dev adopts it, but we're maintaining
ebuilds, not the software itself. If upstream seems to be half dead, it doesn't
make much sense to support it. That said, I like an indexing kio-slave, too.
Comment 5 Rohan McGovern 2005-10-25 21:16:52 UTC
I closed the bug for kio-clucene, as it looks like that project is not going
anywhere, and may merge with Kat. However, I'll leave this one open for now,
as CLucene development has apparently picked up a bit lately and Kat will
probably use this package later.

dev-cpp/clucene now in portage.
