Description:   Opened: 2005-05-30 15:03 0000
Installation of the net-wireless/rt2500 package (any version I've used so far)
does not create the config dir /etc/Wireless/RT2500STA or the config file
/etc/Wireless/RT2500STA/RT2500STA.dat. The file itself is included in the
source tarball in the Module/ directory.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge net-wireless/rt2500
2.
3.

Actual Results:
/etc/Wireless/RT2500STA/RT2500STA.dat is not created/copied from the source
Module/ directory.

Expected Results:
Config file /etc/Wireless/RT2500STA/RT2500STA.dat should be created.

AFAIK, this is the only current chip that's source code has been released. It
feel would be appropriate if Gentoo's ebuild could make installation of any
wireless device based on this chip as easy as possible.

Additionally, it would be nice if there was some sort of text message at the end
of the ebuild giving instructions on how to load the module, set up
/etc/conf.d/net and make a symlink to the net init script for starting the
service. See http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-p-2441973.html#2441973 for my post.

I'm more than willing to help out on this.

I seem to have missed this bug, can you please provide an unified diff (diff -u
old.ebuild new.ebuild) with the changes you have in mind?
I dont own any hardware for this driver, so your offer to help is welcome, thanks.

------- Comment #2 From Chris Gianelloni (RETIRED) 2005-06-24 14:12:08 0000 -------
Is there a chance of this getting resolved and moved to stable by 2005.1?

------- Comment #3 From Henrik Brix Andersen 2005-06-25 07:46:14 0000 -------
Stefan, you're the maintainer of this package - should be trivial for you to
change the ebuild to install this file if needed.

------- Comment #4 From Stefan Schweizer 2005-06-26 09:44:42 0000 -------
I added the config file in the install target, should be distributed to the
rsync mirrors in an hour.
Thanks for reporting.
Fixed.
