The latest version of joe includes a patch for xterm which allows for correct pasting between joe and other applications al well as allowing for coordinates outside of the xterm frame. Attached is the patch and readme supplied in joe 3.3

Thomas, I'd like your opinion on the patch (rumour has it that you've seen the patch before). Is it likely to be included into a future release of xterm? Thanks!
I'm likely to put it in as the only change for a patch (since it's fairly large). Right now though, I'd like to stabilize the other changes from #200-#202 (so that's why I haven't gotten to this one yet).

I added something like this in xterm patch #203 (uses a more standard protocol than the given patch; joe can be updated to match that).
Any news when joe-3.3 will hit Portage?
(In reply to comment #7) > Any news when joe-3.3 will hit Portage? I've spoken to Joe Allen and he's getting a release together of joe that will use the new functionality in xterm instead of the patch supplied with joe 3.3. When he's done that I'll add the new version.

The latest version of joe (3.4) includes extra mouse functionality (clipboard/primary/boundary/etc.) which uses the paste64 code that was added/enhanced by Thomas in 210. For this to work xterm needs to be configured using the --enable-paste64 flag. Apparently this also needs AllowWindowOps to be enabled, this should probably be controlled by a local paste64 USE flag, which when enabled gives an einfo stating that AllowWindowOps should be enabled. I'll also add a local USE flag to joe which enables the optional xterm functionality which also gives a note about enabling AllowWindowOps.
added in xterm-215-r1.
