Description Demitrious Kelly 2002-10-15 19:49:59 UTC
It would be helpful to include a default mennu.lst file in the stageX
tarballs. This would help drastically reduce the possibility of typo's while
composing the boot menu's... which have a tendancy to cause systems to boot
improperly (not at all even). This is less of a bug and more of a feature
request.

This could easily be achieved by adding menu.lst.example to the grub-ebuild
By naming it something different from menu.lst (ie. menu.lst.example) menu.lst
will not be overwritten when one remerges / upgrades grub. (Whereas the example
will.) - just my suggestion on how to solute this :)

Something close to the following migth work (keeping an example in the ebuild's
files-directory.) if added to src_install()

insinto /boot/grub
doins ${FILESDIR}/${P}.menu.lst.example

ok added in grub-0.93.20030118.ebuild

Moving these so we can remove the "Install CD" component from "Gentoo Linux".

I apologize to everyone for this spam, but according to the bugzilla developers,
this is the only reasonable way to do this.
