ewarn "on the physical files - help for PaX and grsecurity" ewarn "can be given by #gentoo-hardened + pappy@gentoo.org" i guess you want to change that line somewhen :)
Created attachment 58159 [details] "Fixed" ebuild Removed the inaccurate information and added proper reference to the channel and the mailing list itself. Cheers, Lorenzo.
Created attachment 58161 [details] "Fixed" 1.5 ebuild. Ebuild for the 1.5 brand. Cheers, Lorenzo.
java team, please replace 'pappy@gentoo.org' with 'hardened@gentoo.org' on all ebuild versions for sun-jdk, blackdown-jrk, sun-jre-bin ebuilds, to remove the reference to one person and replace it with the hardened team. If you want me to do it for you, just say and reassign to me.
well hardended@ have made it clean they don't care about anything java related, so i don't think they would like it if a user emailed them
It's not that hardened does not care about java. It's just that it's one of those thorns in our sides in that it requires extra special handling and the end users experience can be rather nightmarish and lead to them filing lots of bugs if java* itself does not have the proper pax flags settings that allow it to run when using NX/ASLR/MPROTECT behaviors by default.
Thomas - if you don't want to put hardened@gentoo.org, I suggest you just remove the warning completely because pappy@gentoo.org is not a valid email address.
Sorry that it took so long, changed :)
well it actually is a valid email address, but i guess hardened@gentoo.org suits it more because the herd can help better than a single dev can. -Alex
