Description:   Opened: 2005-05-02 08:40 0000
gawk has optional support for switch() {} statement. One can enable it using
./configure --enable-switch. I don't think it does any compatibility breakage,
so it can be added to the ebuild, improving usability.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:

i have no problem with this ... az ?

no, should cause no compatibility issues

the docs mention that enable-switch will be on by default with 3.2+ releases, so we can just enable it in our gawk for now :)
