Recent x86_64 kernels cannot log Machine Check Exceptions without help. mcelog is required to view MCEs on these kernels, and it is recommended that users log them in a cron job. The attached ebuild installs mcelog and a daily cron job to check for MCEs and log any that are found. It appears that x86 is about to get this feature as well, and, when that happens, something like this should probably have ~x86 keyworded as well.

Created attachment 57690 [details] Better proposed ebuild Whoops -- I submitted the wrong version. This removes pointless src_unpack and src_compile.
app-admin/mcelog-0.4 is in portage. thanks for creating the ebuild!
