in the install file of the freeradius tarball (1.02) you will find a new configuration option :
  --with-edir             Compile with support for Novell eDirectory
                              integration.

This allow freeradius to send request to the Novell eDirectory thru LDAP.

Would it be possible to crease a USE flag (edir or edirectory perhaps ?) to enable that option ?
With the current 1.0.2-r2 ebuild this is not possible.

of course it is possible
however, I need your confirmation that --with-edir works for you

At this time, I look for a solution to authenticate wifi client with a Novell edirectory (802.1x protocol). It seems that freeradius will be the best "middleware" solution.

I will try to test it this week if my others projects allow it.
I will report the results here.
