the examples provided with catalyst are out of date. specifically, the grp spec file lists things like xfree, and gentoo-dev-sources which are no longer in portage. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. emerge catalyst 2. get portage snapshot (catalyst -f snapshot.spec) 3. attempt grp build using example spec file (catalyst -f example-grp.spec) 4. package not found in portage message. Expected Results: i would expect the examples to be current and contain only packages that are in the portage system, not the portage system of a year ago.
I am releasing catalyst 1.1.9 in a few days which does not have any examples, but instead relies on dev-util/livecd-specs and dev-util/livecd-kconfigs to provide examples by giving the user the real configuration used for our releases.
OK... I lied... I decided to not only do what I said before, but I also updated the example specs so people can use them as documentation.
so, if you're updating the example specs, should this be marked as fixed/closed?
Sure
And resolved...
