ipython comes with an ipython.el emacs mode, but it requires at least version 4.70 of python-mode.el, which has not been formally released by the python-mode people. There is a copy of 4.70 taken from cvs at: http://ipython.scipy.org/tmp/python-mode.el This file works for fine with the other files from python-mode-1.0alpha.tar.gz I have successfully re-tarred the package with the new python-mode.py, and emerged it with the existing ebuild. I propose that a tar.bz2 with the new python-mode.py be made available on the gentoo mirrors, and a python-mode-4.70.ebuild be released (i.e. a copy of 4.63-r1.ebuild, but with a different download source). I will also update the ipython ebuild to correctly install the ipython.el file into the elisp site-packages. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
python herd doesn't maintain the python-mode, so i'll let the emacs folks take care of this.
Added to CVS. Thanks for the report.
