Certain plug-ins, the find plug-in for instance, in epiphany-extensions, do not work when Epiphany is compiled against Mozilla. It will be great to have Epiphany compile against Firefox to alleviate this problem. I am referring to the 1.6 series of both Epiphany and epiphany-extensions. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce:

The ebuilds are adapted to make use of a new USE-Flag called 'firefox'. The ebuild to build firefox with headers is here: http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=86070 The Adblock-Extension is not recommended altough it is safe to use. I didn't include it however.

Your Epiphany ebuild depends on a firefox ebuild I can't find in portage.
Please see Bug #86070. The URL is some Postings above. This firefox-ebuild won't be official as it is meant to override mozilla's settings.
I got the right firefox ebuild and everything works fine now. Thanks!

This worked here, building against firefox with ebuild of bug http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=86070 It may not be "clean" but is a good base for taking firefox headers in portage
The bug originally posed "Compiling Epiphany Against Firefox" has been fixed in epiphany-1.6.0-r3 in CVS.
