Current version is 2.23, SRC_URI is http://www.lcdf.org/type/lcdf-typetools-${PV}.tar.gz Probably should be app-text/lcdf-typetools (akin to app-text/t1utils also at the above URL). A basic econf && emake type ebuild will be enough.

I wrote an ebuild. Actually, it is mainly a copy of app-text/t1utils. It works for me (x86) but I don't know whether it compiles on other platforms so I only added ~x86.
Just renaming works to get the newest version.

Version 3.45 works with the here posted ebuild (renamed).
Thanks for the ebuild Sebastian! (you surely meant version 2.45 not 3.45 in your last post). Renamed ebuild works for 2.46. What's the reason this isn't in portage yet? Bug filed more than one and a half years ago! Minor suggestion for ebuild improvement: add tetex use flag.
