Description:   Opened: 2005-03-08 12:53 0000
I run the subversion server as part of apache. I don't run svnserve, nor do I
run xinet.d. It would be nice if those could optionally not be installed.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:

Actual Results:
> /etc/init.d/svnserve
> /etc/conf.d/svnserve
> /etc/xinet.d/svnserve

Expected Results:
-

Would be nice if the client components could be seperated from the server
components, as well.

Maybe you want to have a look at bug #20842, especially comment #c6.

#2: Thank you, Markus. Your helpful comment put me on the right trail - I now
see that apr is fundamental to all of subversion, including client components...
Sorry for the bugspam, everyone - please ignore comment #1. :\

I'll see about this in a new version of the ebuild. This is however very low on
my priority list. Those three files don't make much of a difference.

svnserve itself is still being built and installed. These 3 files
(/etc/{init,conf,xinetd}.d/svnserve) are very small and harmless so I hope that
they will be unconditionally installed in Subversion 1.5.*.
