(From update of attachment 52711 [edit]) New ebuild needed for 0.8.6
Created an attachment (id=66925) [edit] glchess-0.8.6.ebuild Here's a working ebuild for glchess-0.8.6.ebuild.
At this point, it seems like glchess needs some more work before being added to portage. It's clearly missing some features and looks like it's still in (slow) development. Reopen when it's a little farther down the road.

The ebuild worked fine for me, and the game plays nicely. I think the ebuild should be added to the portage tree.
It certainly still lacks some GUI options (settings for gnuchess/crafty opponnent, ...), but it plays fine and looks nice here (on amd64 btw). Only had to edit the gtk+ dependency to '>=x11-libs/gtk+-2.4*' (I do not have =x11-libs/gtk+-2.4) to make it compile
Might be better now... someone attach an ebuild for me.
Created an attachment (id=92642) [edit] glchess-0.9.5.ebuild I'm not an expert on python :( but I did the ebuild restarting from scratch.
Still plunks files in the current directory while playing a game. Anyone want to take a shot a fixing that up?
ok. in portage.
