Perhaps this patch can be added, either via USE flag or as default?

This is a crucial patch, allowing filtering with content compression (filtering right now requires +prevent-compression).

This is important in places where traffic is charged per MB.

Steps to Reproduce:

The compression seems to work fine in 3.0.3-r2, thanks!

But there are two things:
  - 3.0.3-r2 wanted to install as new slot, so I removed old version
    manually prior to the emerge
  - patch 3.0.3.2 didn't work, seems the patch is incorrectly done, probably
    difference between two updates and not update and 3.0.3-stable, so I had
    to disable that patch in the ebuild

1) all versions incorrectly installed under slot 2, which is kind of strange.
An unslotted ebuild should have SLOT=0, so I fixed that. 

2) I've erased the patch submitted by tove in bug #83205

This is fixed in 3.0.3-r3
