After upgrading to genkernel-3.1.0j I get the following error message on boot-up: /linuxrc: 450: /tmp/.initrd/bin/[ not found (or similar, because there is no log of the message in dmesg or in any file in /var/log!!) It's not critical though, because the system starts without other errors. grub.conf: title=gentoo26 savedefault kernel (hd0,1)/kernel-gentoo26 root=/dev/ram0 init=/linuxrc real_root=/dev/hda5 gentoo=nodevfs udev video=radeonfb:mtrr,ywrap,1400x1050-32 splash=off hda=10337,240,63 lapic initrd (hd0,1)/initrd-gentoo26 Other things that may be importaint: I use gcc with the "hardened" use-flag (and "pic" of course). The error occured with recent 2.6 and 2.4 kernels. I do not use KEYWORDS="~x86". I don't use bootsplash or gensplash, so I get "splash: did not find a bootsplash for <XxY> resolution..." errors, but it isn't the source if this error. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. genkernel --udev --no-initrdmodules --kernel-config=config-R51-1 all 2. symbolically link kernel and initrd to kernel-gentoo26 and initrd-gentoo26 (so I don't have to change GRUB's config) 3.
Fixed in 3.1.0k.
