This installs the c libraries included in uw-imap, similiar to the imap-devel rpm for RedHat. Basically just downloads the uw-imap distibution, builds it, and installs the c-client part. This allows php to be built with imap support. If accepted, I suggest that the php ebuild be modified to have a dependency on this if imap is specified. Incidentally, this also solves bug#72. Sean

Hmmm. For whatever reason your ebuild doesn't work for me as is. !!! Portage had a problem processing this file: !!! /usr/gentoo-x86/dev-libs/c-client/c-client-2001a.ebuild : command not found: : command not found: : command not found: : command not found: : command not found: : command not found: : command not found: : command not found: /usr/sbin/ebuild.sh: /usr/gentoo-x86/dev-libs/c-client/c-client-2001a.ebuild: li'e 24: syntax error near unexpected token `src_compile() /usr/sbin/ebuild.sh: /usr/gentoo-x86/dev-libs/c-client/c-client-2001a.ebuild: li'e 24: `src_compile() !!! aborting. Also, you might want to take a look at the latest net-mail/uw-imap build. It looks like your ebuild won't honor the CFLAGS set in /etc/make.conf. Thanks!
Incidentally, if I'm just being overly obtuse, just reopen the bug.
I have submitted a c-client ebuild as Bug 20372 My ebuild builds on my system.
