Description:   Opened: 2002-09-17 09:09 0000
The Gentoo mailx - 8.1.1 - does not utilize the REPLYTO environment variable.
This prevents me from sending external email from the command line as replies
need to be sent to a POP server rather than the originating address.

Debian Woody uses 8.1.2, which does respect REPLYTO, along with several extra
variables.

TIA.

We'll update it after the freeze, but until then have you considered "nail"?
It's usually better maintained, and it does let you set reply-to.

Hadn't heard of it, but will try - thanks.

I will be getting this into portage within the next couple of days.

I have been trying to find a maintained mailx source. Debian claims to have a
cvs version of 8.1.2... but I don't know where the mailx cvs repository is.
Any ideas?

I couldn't find it either, I guess the Debian maintainers should be able to
help
- are you going to ask them or shall I?

I got a response :)

<snip>
Yes, I'm taking it from the OpenBSD cvs repository
(http://www.openbsd.org/cgi-bin/cvsweb/src/usr.bin/mail/).
</snip>

I will check out the latest source and have an ebuild up soon.

I have ported mailx-8.1.2 from the openbsd cvs repository. Pulled on
11/29/2002. It is currently marked unstable, please test.
