foldingathome provides for status information built in, kept in the file 'unitinfo.txt'. That information could be used to give a status message for the foldingathome service. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce:
Created an attachment (id=49560) [edit] Adds a status() function to the init-script to perform requested feature The patch is against the init-script from foldingathome-4.0.0
I will add this to 5.0.2-r2 later today.
I lied, this will not be done, because status in gentoo is just started or stopped.
Created an attachment (id=50374) [edit] A patch that is OK with the initscript policies I've changed this to give the status message via a new option. Now run /etc/init.d/foldingathome unitinfo.
Hmm, sounds pretty good, I'll double check on this, make it handle multiple clients (as we have supported in 5.0.2) and add it.
Fixed in CVS. Thanks, I enhanced the patch a bit, but I think you'll like it. foldingathome-5.0.2-r2 added, I will try to push it to stable soon.
