I've created an eBuild for digikam 0.5.1, a nice KDE frontend for gphoto2.
Attached is the ebuild-script for compiling and installing the program. 
Dependencies: >=kdelibs-3.0, >=kdesdk-3.0, >=gphoto2-2.0-r1 I'd suggest
media-gfx/digikam (at least that's the point where I've included the ebuild for
now into my portage tree).  HTH Markus
