Description Mark Mruss 2004-12-02 08:36:50 UTC
I have been trying to update a system that has been dormant for about 6 or 7 months. I was trying to update to gnome 2.8 and so I typed: "emerge gnome" which always seems to fail when emerging gcalctool-4.4.19.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.emerge gnome
2.or emerge gcalctool-4.4.19

Actual Results:
Here is the information:

# emerge gnome

Comment 1 Mike Gardiner (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-12-10 18:58:47 UTC
Looks like something's up with your libgnomeui. Can you try CFLAGS="-march=pentium3 -O2 -pipe" emerge libgnomeui?
Comment 2 Mark Mruss 2004-12-10 21:54:40 UTC
Actually, I ended up updating my kernel to gentoo-dev-sources-2.6.9-r9 and then updated the entire system and it seems to have fixed the problem.
Comment 3 Mike Gardiner (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-12-10 22:42:43 UTC
Good work, seeing as this isn't reproduceable now.
Comment 4 foser (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-12-11 07:41:37 UTC
doesn't mean there is no bug

it is quite obvious what is wrong here, the gtk+ dep is incorrect.
Comment 5 foser (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-12-12 09:50:18 UTC
my last comment was slightly misleading

added a fix to .19 & .20 releases for the old deprecations problem.
Comment 6 foser (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-12-12 09:50:26 UTC
and fixed
