I have been trying to update a system that has been dormant for about 6 or 7 months. I was trying to update to gnome 2.8 and so I typed: "emerge gnome" which always seems to fail when emerging gcalctool-4.4.19. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.emerge gnome 2.or emerge gcalctool-4.4.19 Actual Results: Here is the information: # emerge gnome Calculating dependencies ...done! >>> emerge (1 of 98) gnome-extra/gcalctool-4.4.19 to / >>> md5 src_uri ;-) gcalctool-4.4.19.tar.bz2 >>> Unpacking source... >>> Unpacking gcalctool-4.4.19.tar.bz2 to /var/tmp/portage/gcalctool-4.4.19/work >>> Source unpacked. * Patching ${S}/ltmain.sh ... * Applying portage-1.4.1.patch ... * Applying max_cmd_len-1.5.0.patch ... * Applying sed-1.4.3.patch ... * Applying tmp-1.3.5.patch ... * Applying uClibc/libtool patches ... Looks like something's up with your libgnomeui. Can you try CFLAGS="-march=pentium3 -O2 -pipe" emerge libgnomeui?
Actually, I ended up updating my kernel to gentoo-dev-sources-2.6.9-r9 and then updated the entire system and it seems to have fixed the problem.
Good work, seeing as this isn't reproduceable now.
doesn't mean there is no bug it is quite obvious what is wrong here, the gtk+ dep is incorrect.
my last comment was slightly misleading added a fix to .19 & .20 releases for the old deprecations problem.
and fixed
