app-emacs/auctex-11.53 do the following:
  dodoc ChangeLog CHANGES INSTALLATION PROBLEMS README

But, the listed files are for 11.14 (maybe). The distribution 11.53 has:
CHANGES          README 
COPYING          RELEASE
ChangeLog        TODO
FAQ
INSTALL
INSTALL.windows

So, please correct to install proper files.
