Others are normal files and are reported to be owned by xterm itself.
So, who should really own them, and who shouldn't install them?
They should be the "same" (for comparable dates from ncurses, and xterm). Since xterm patches are more frequent than ncurses releases, a good reference for terminfo.src is' ftp://invisible-island.net/ncurses/terminfo.src.gz There are minor differences between the two terminfo's based on the use of the two packages, but none that should be very interesting at this level (ymmv).
So? Four months have passed and no action on this bug? Really, isn't it time to have one of the ebuild corrected?
This is a low priority bug. Keep in mind that we are working on gentoo on our free time. The problems is chose which ebuild should provide those files and which should not. I'm tempted to just add a separate terminfo ebuild and have ncurses and xterm depends on that one, even if is a bit overkill.
there isnt a clean solution for this atm ... there's a similar problem with Eterm although i closed that bug as WONTFIX and told the user to suck it up ...
xterm-200-r1 refrains from installing the terminfo files.
