Description Karol Wojtaszek (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-11-21 08:21:57 UTC
I need it marked stable, because it fixes sourious libtool file collision problem (bug #69705). Check things twice after stabilization, because it might break libtool (remove his files). It's not a security bug.

KEYWORDS now
KEYWORDS="~alpha ~amd64 ~hppa ~ia64 ~mips ~ppc ~ppc64 ~sparc ~x86"
needs to be changed to
KEYWORDS="alpha amd64 hppa ia64 mips ppc ppc64 sparc x86"
Comment 1 Daniel Black (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-11-22 03:08:17 UTC
Karol - assigning to you so it doesn't show up in bug-wranglers
Comment 2 Markus Rothe (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-11-22 11:50:40 UTC

x86: sorry, but comment #3 says so but it's again marked ~x86 and not x86.

Comment 8 Gustavo Zacarias (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-11-26 05:55:42 UTC
I'm still seeing b0rkage on sparc in upgrade (older imagemagick -> newer) scenarios, zapping the libtdl files.
Can another sparc devel try this to rule out me needing coffee or vacation? :)
Basically /usr/lib/libltdl.so.3* goes missing.
This does not happen on x86.
Comment 9 James Hamilton 2004-11-26 10:44:03 UTC
Upgrading from 6.1.3.2 on amd64 I get the same problem with libtdl going missing. Downgrading solves the problem.
Comment 10 Sylvain OBEGI 2004-11-26 14:10:52 UTC
Sorry to be a bit off topic but how this package marked stable can resolve the problem as the source tarball isn't available anymore on the imagemagick server?
Comment 11 Jason Wever (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-11-26 14:21:08 UTC
I can confirm that libtdl goes missing on sparc.
Comment 12 Karol Wojtaszek (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-11-27 01:17:55 UTC
If you have problems with libtld please reemerge sys-devel/libtool.

Sylvain: I know about this, all older releases of imagemagick are being removed from imagemagick's mirror. Use our mirrors.

Comment 13 Sylvain OBEGI 2004-11-27 02:52:27 UTC
Karol : sorry, it seems I was using an outdated gentoo mirror, so i couldn't get the files. thanks
(sorry again for the off-topic)
Comment 14 Hardave Riar (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-11-27 16:21:49 UTC
Stable on mips.
Comment 15 Jason Wever (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-11-27 19:05:36 UTC
re-emerging libtool seems to have had no effect on the libtld problem
Comment 16 Karol Wojtaszek (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-11-30 12:18:39 UTC
libtld?
Which package contain this file?
Comment 17 Bryan Østergaard (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-12-05 09:37:33 UTC
Stable on alpha.
Comment 18 Jason Wever (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-12-08 19:05:22 UTC
The confusion is easy here as libtdl comes from imagemagick but libtld comes from libtool.
Comment 19 Daniel Herzog 2004-12-14 06:23:12 UTC
look at #73464 again.
Comment 20 Gustavo Zacarias (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-01-10 11:48:43 UTC
sparc stable.
Went for a compromise solution to warn the user about possible libtool b0rkage w/ fix when emerging imagemagick.
Comment 21 Karol Wojtaszek (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-01-10 13:45:20 UTC
All archs done, thanks.
