Insight is a GUI frontend to GDB. It is an execellent
application for debugging in a graphical environment.

Insight comes with gdb, so I decided to put the whole
package in /usr/insight. This way, no pre-exsisting
gdb binaries will be overwritten. I hope this is an
acceptable solution.

I entered it into dev-util/insight.

The damn thing installs its own copies of Tk, Tcl, and other libs. Ouch, what a
kludge!.. If there is an easy way to make it build without at least tcl/tk, it
would be nice (I didn't find an obvious way).

I put everything in /opt/insight instead of /usr/insight.

Added the updated ebuild to the portage tree.
Thanks, Marc.
